Confused After staring longingly at Jackie Chan's face on a Wilshire Blvd building side during rush hour, I was somewhat excited to see him in action again! Chris Tucker not so much, but he can be tolerated if in drag *see Fifth Element. There were some classic Jackie Chan wall climbing escapades accompanied by Chris Tucker screaming racial slurs, however, nothing could resurrect the stupid-but-fun cadence of the original. Plus, watching old guys talk about hot girls and porn for two hours makes this girl watch the scenery and camera work. Being a Francophile, I very much enjoyed all references to the French culture, including the most fabulous secondary hero, Georges. He made the movie good enough for me as well as my viewing audience. This date movie might have been sufficiently entertaining had any of the following been true: I was 14 yrs old and male, I was somehow inebriated, or I was Brett Ratner. As I am none of the above, it proved only worthwhile because of the bloopers during the end credits, which were fun. I wanted to like it, but unfortunately I just couldn't.

PS. I still love you Jackie~! Wink

Hey, welcome, Laura (my friend who knows that it's important to post immediately after registering, Woo Hoo!) Very Happy

I saw this movie this evening as well, and I couldn't agree more. Georges was cheered for and applauded... the laughter at the revamped "who's on first" joke was decidedly male... I noticed a ROBOT wearing scrubs near the beginning of the movie because I was already bored with the plot!

I wanted to see Jackie fight more... I wanted Chris to shut the f*** up!... I wanted Georges to save the day. The family sitting near me managed to keep their kids awake long enough to realize that the end credit bloopers must be funny, because that was the only time I heard any laughter from any of them, and at that point, the kids wouldn't shut up either.

I would say, unless you fit Laura's "qualifications" for enjoyment of this flick, don't bother until you can see it for free. Razz

PS Laura was my "date". Very Happy

The main reason I want to see this movie is that it has scenes in France and on the Eiffel Tower. I don't have high expectations for the entertainment value of the script or whatever, but I wouldn't complain anyway, considering I will not be paying my way in.

By the way -- and this has nothing to do with Rush Hour 3 -- I just Googled our new Laura, and I am definitely looking forward to meeting a French-speaking, ballet-dancing hottie who sings so sweetly in her demo reel.

wonder why we haven't uploaded a demo reel onto http://emelle.lexjb.com

That would be because there's no demo reel to upload... No copy of any of my IMdB stuff (not that I want anything from the bad horror flick); no good quality recordings of theatrical productions... in essence, nothing that showcases my talents. A reel is important, but not nearly as effective as a good reel.

Stop pressuring me! Razz

Does Vik have a MySpace page? I've found one for Jen S and for Laura M but not for Vik.

Lone Star

A 1996 flick. A closed military base. Military guys looking for old bullets to weld into sculptures, dig up an old skull and a crusted sheriff's badge of a missing sheriff 40 years before. Mostly seamless flashbacks. A surprise ending and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

How is this related to Rush Hour 3? I am really confused by your non sequitur. Perhaps you meant to start a new topic in the REVIEWS forum.

Tonight I finally saw Rush Hour 3 which qualifies me to post a review.

Seeing the excellent finale on the Eiffel Tower made the whole movie worth watching. During most of the movie, I thought, okay, fine, this is tolerable, but then the big showdown on the big landmark happened, and I was thrilled. This film was definitely worth a drive across town to Cinemark Woodhill 10.

My excitement could easily be chalked up to me being a Francophile, so "your mileage may vary," as they say on the world wide web.
