Having just broken up a two-year relationship, I was instructed to read this book. The author, Dr. Patricia Allen, is a marriage and family therapist, and she hosts seminars all over the country, but mostly out here in L.A. Her basic premise is that there is "masculine" energy that is competitive, generous, driven, and thinking, and "feminine" energy that is reactive, giving-back, nurturing, and feeling, and that these two types of energies exist in every person, but that we generally tend toward one energy at a time. If we can find the person we're attracted to that has the complementary energy, we'll be able to build a committed relationship that will last.

I found this to be an easy, entertaining, and enlightening read. I only wish it were more balanced in speaking to men as well as women. Men attend her seminars, but she wrote this book specifically for women. I think all members of the Mason clan should read it so we can each figure out which energy we prefer, how to stay in that energy and act in such a way as to attract the complementary energy and not sabotage our new relationships as we have done to our past relationships. I don't think Daddy needs to read it in order to find a new mate, but I do think he would enjoy the read. If it inspires him to find a new mate, then that's okay, too.

I will read it try and figure out who I am, but you are right about the mate. Lovey spoiled all women for me.
Now, Cheryl and I just watched Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega (Spanglish), in a movie called 10 items or less, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was funny quirky and made me laugh out loud at some parts. I recommend it.
